Deceptive Claims The big book inside the box is NOT the "Teach Yourself..." text. It is the manual for the C++ 4.5 complier for 16 bit applications in Windows 1.0. (Does ANYONE still use Windows 1.0?!) The "Teach Yourself..." text is available online for free, at least in its 21 day version (by the same author).
First time owner of C++...long time programmer. This product is very no nonsense. For anyone who grew up programming in DOS, this is THE product. I wrote my first class object 45 mins after opening the package. Borland could have been a bit more verbose in project organization in DOS, but it's everything a 16 bit/DOS programmer dreams of. Documentation, very good... product examples, programs, etc., spectacular. Ease of installation, a snap! This is a MUST for anyone supporting clients still in DOS, and I know dozens here in Juneau. |
