Some Instructions PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I like the Rosetta Stone method but the product does not come with any instructions. I mean it has a user guide but it does not tell you what to do or how to do anything. It describes the setup of the program but does not tell you to start some place and finish some place. The product would be more helpful if it said to go to lesson 1 and follow these steps. I find myself hopping all over the place and getting lost. You can see that it is a good product, I just don't know which is the most effective way to use it!!!!!
About as good as language software can be
First, the Rosetta Stone system is a good one. It uses exercises that combine pictures, words, and audio to teach a language. You can choose whether to focus on general learning, reading, listening, speaking, or writing. The software runs well overall, though I have had some problems with slow startup and instability when doing speaking exercises ... but I'm using an Intel-based Mac and the software is running in PowerPC emulation in the current version. I believe that more stability will come soon.^M
Great, but one major flaw.
This program, simply put, is great! The concept behind it is so simple, yet it so effective. The student can never get bored because there are always new drills, new phrases, new pictures, and new exercises. ^M
