Customer Reviews

Fun, pure fun!

I am so sick of hearing how good the PS3 is. Truth is, the PS3 and the 360 are not that much different in performance, and sony's highly toted online play's not that spectacular. Its just not. So, here goes a review from a smart person, who does not give into lies and false info.^M

Vote not in yet.....

I actually just picked the system up on Monday. Bit of an impulse buy, however I own the original Xbox and it's still going strong. After reading all of the positives and negatives(alot of both) I contacted Xbox support to fire some of this at them. Couple of things the service person said to me. Do not place the unit on end. Horizontal is the only way to go. I was told that the unit can damage software and heat up to a point where internal damage is imminent. Further, I was told that there were( in the launch consoles) plastic pegs which held components in place. As you and I can imagine, these would melt, and the result....well, sounds like some of you know. Supposedly these have been replaced with actual metal screws. Also, the tech indicated that under no circumstances use this aftermarket fan. It WILL( he said) damage the system by way of generating more heat than helping to cool the console. I also discussed the extended warranty, it's about $60 for two years. I'll be getting that.^M

Great game system

I have a PS3 and a 360. While they're both powerful at the moment the 360 is my clear favorite. Gears of War, Rainbow 6: Vegas, Oblivion and Call of Duty 3 are all big reasons why, along with top notch video on demand (downloadable TV shows in high def quality - nice!). I also really like to try before I buy and almost every game has a demo you can download on XBox Live prior to dropping the cash for the full game. Very well done, Microsoft! I still think the Premium version is a better deal because the hard drive and wireless controller are more than worth the extra $100 but if you're strapped for cash this is still a great system.
