Still easy, desperately needs stability and improved performance...
This is my third Pinnacle product; my last was Pinnacle Studio Deluxe rev8 w/AVDV capture card. In upgrading to my now 10.5 {.7 patched,} Studio Plus T.E. I was pleased to see the hardware worked immediately. {I've worked the most with analog input, 8mm tape.}^M
Pinnacle 10.5 seems better than Adobe Elements 3.0
I haven't bought this software -- yet. But I have downloaded Pinnacle's 30-day trial version and I've been working with it side by side with Adobe's 30-day trial version of Premier Elements 3.0. I am finding that Pinnacle Studio 10.5 is much more intuitive and easier to use than Adobe's offering. It also seems to have better and more special effects and transitions. Since I want to be able to integrate still photos with videos (from old home movies, a BIG upcoming project), I like Pinnacle's ability to pan and zoom on stills, a la Ken Burns. I haven't had any problems with Pinnacle on my Windows XP PC, which has a 3 ghz processor, 1 gig of RAM and a 128 MB video card. That's all I can tell you about it at this point, but it does look like a winner to me.^M
Best overall Package
I have been using Pinnacles products since version 7. If you want basic video editing, this software does a great job. In addition, there are advanced capabilities if you did deep enough into this software. One note of caution, once you install the software make sure you connect and get the latest update which is currently 10.6. As in the past, the initial releases (7,8 and 9) are not that stable out of the gate. However once you install the latest updates the software is very stable. There is also a user forum on the net where you can ask questions (huge forum!) and look for tips that others have posted.
