Unrealistic, but fun

I definitely think this game was worth it, especially if you have enjoyed any of the previous tony hawk games. The last TH game I played before this was THUG, I skipped THUG2 and THAW but this one was worth the wait. It took me about 15 hours to beat the game (get to number 8 in the world) and I feel it would take about at LEAST 15 more hours to get to number 1 (I'm guessing a lot longer). I have to warn you: some of the sick challenges truly are insanely difficult. It's possible to get to number 8 in the world without doing too many sick goals, but to get to number 4 and then number 1, it's going to take a rather high percentage of sick goals.^M

Sigh...

Very disappointed with this game. As a skater i was impressed with the overall styles captured from the various tricks, but this is no "next gen" game...the amount of options available to customize your skater is puzzling....how is that THPS II had more options??? The graphics are horrible, the start screen even looks low budget, the highlight of this game is the new nail the trick mode which actually makes the gameplay more challenging/ realistic but alas this does not make the game. I think what the future of pro skater needs is to venture more into the direction of being a sim...i.e, having your skater progressingly learn tricks, how about real physics...when you grind on something your skater slows down instead of rocketing off...spend some time designing an actual living city.

Cons and Pros

tony, tony, tony i loved american wasteland and could not wait for p8. i was a tad bit dissapointed. the classic mode is built in with the story mode, i never really enjoyed classic so this is a con. another is the fact that there is no mode. like easy normal or sick. i usually start with easy then move up but i guess it's automatically on normal so after u beat there is nothin else to do except beat side missions.^M
