poor choice
Be very careful of Symantec. Their product packaging says it applies to a certain operating system, but in reality it doesn't and you can't get it upgraded to apply unless you buy "another" package, so why pay twice? Don't trust the Symantec packaging. I spent 5 hours on the phone tonight with: tech support, who then determined it was a customer support issue, and then, surprise, customer support sent me back to tech support, who then (are you as tired yet as I was) sent me to customer support, who gave me a phone number to call that, slightly over an hour later (I wanted to see how long it took), was answered, and who knows if they are gonna help me, I gotta send in a bunch of paperwork. How do I know why their software that says it works on this operating system doesn't work?
Having a virus would be better than this
I've been a loyal Norton customer over the years and it's sad to have watched them go from lean and mean to bloated and nonworking.^M
Too Complicated for me!
There are millions of computer users out here in the real world, who are just like me. Users who don't know a lot about the "innards" of our computers. Users who need simple and easy-to-use protection from the viruses and other bad guys out there. Users who want a product that is easy to install, and just works, day after day. Norton's Internet Security 2007 is NOT the product for users like me. I don't know if it would protect my computer or not. Because I never got it set up to work in the first place. I use AOL, and Norton's evidently doesn't like AOL. I use Venus Spy Trap, and Norton's evidently doesn't like Venus Spy Trap. All I wanted was something I could install and forget about. Does anyone out there know of an internet security program for users like me? I sure can't recommend Norton's. If any Norton's people read this, can you hear my frustration? Can't you make your products work for people like me?
