Worse than Version 6!
I bought this piece of junk as (hopefully) an upgrade to V6. First time I tried to install it my entire system crashed so hard that system restore wouldn't even help. Luckily I had backed everything up to another drive using Ghost.^M
Is the name a joke?
I replaced V6 of this program with V.7 because every time I ran the so-called Easy Updater to update virus files, the program hung up. I had to uninstall and reinstall the program every time. Guess what? V.7 does the same thing, even after I uninstalled the CD version to update it with the downloaded version and then installed the patch required if you have IE7 (no mention of that any were). Tech support's suggestion -- uninstall and reinstall. I don't think I can trust a utility program that can't even handle an update to its virus files. Back to Norton for me.
Very Impressive
For many years, I was an exclusive user of Norton System Works to help clean my Windows systems. About a year ago, I moved to Advanced System Optimizer after reading a positive review. Indeed, ASO did a much better job of restoring my clogged computer systems to speedier performance. At the same time, I experimented with FixIt Utilities 6.0, but in general it did not find as many errors as ASO. Well, with FixIt Utilities 7.0, there is a new champion. On two separate XP Pro systems, it found about 600 registry errors AFTER I had scanned with Advanced System Optimizer. This program is a huge bargain because it also includes effective virus and spyware software. I have long been frustrated with computer performance deterioration. FixIt 7.0 does a marvelous job of restoring lagging performance. I like it well enough I've purchased licenses for 24 copies.
